Portland, Ore.— Portland Opera is pleased to announce the next Blogger Night @ The Opera for the exciting triple bill of two one-act works by Monteverdi—Il ballo delle ingrate and Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda—and the West Coast premiere of Leonard Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti on Friday, March 26, 2010. Blogger Night kicked off at the end of last season during Rigoletto and has grown to be a very popular event. Because this is our Studio Artist production, we have invited students from local universities to be our special bloggers for opening night.

The four student bloggers will receive a backstage tour, meet with stage director Nic Muni, attend the opening night performance and then live-blog about the whole experience from the Newmark Theatre lobby before, during intermission and after the show.

Each blogger’s individual posts will appear simultaneously on their own websites and/or Twitter accounts and Facebook pages. We are pleased to welcome four new bloggers.

Lewis & Clark College |  Kathryn Miller for The Pioneer Log    (http://piolog.wordpress.com/);

University of Portland | Jessie Hethcoat for The Beacon and her personal blog   (http://upbeaconstaff.wordpress.com/ + http://jessiereads.wordpress.com);
