back

Apologies, again, for the hiatus. Much of the past week has been taken up with (a) car-related tasks;( b) things that got shuffled around on my calender because of (a) ; and (c) prepping my class on Carl Orff and Carmina Burana for the Portland Opera Studio Artists. Update on my Subaru: It’s totaled. After seeing the first repair estimate last Thursday, I was about 95% certain that it would be, and I got the final verdict on Tuesday. While I’m not really looking forward to spending large chunks of time going from auto dealership to auto dealership, it kind of goes with the territory at this point. Update on me: A few small bruises here and there, but otherwise pretty much back to normal.

disruption

Hey, everyone. I’ve been meaning to post something about my trip to New York City and the fabulous time I had participating in “Così fan tutte: Some Assembly Required” at the Gershwin Hotel, a trip that culminated in an impromptu photo op with Renee Fleming: But last week was kind of hectic, and then this happened on Friday evening: A driver ran the red light at a downtown Portland intersection and plowed into the rear passenger side door of my Subaru. I’m fine – a bit battered and bruised and not moving very fast – but I’m obviously now having to deal with all of the junk associated with an auto accident. I apologize for the disruption in service. I’ll be back soon…
